Verses 1-2 – Our Awesome God

Creation displays the greatness of God.

                     The Big - The heavens declare the glory of God.

The heavens declare the glory of God;

    the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Psalm 19:1

                     The Little - God cares for the details. (Luke 12:22-34)

Verse 3 – Our Savior

God cares for us enough that He sent his son to save us. (John 1:29, 3:16)

Until we understand the gravity of our sin, we will never understand the great love and care of our Savior.

Through Jesus God’s greatness is revealed and given to us. (Hebrews 1:3; 2 Corinthians 4:6-9)

Verse 4 – Our Hope

We look forward to seeing the greatness of God and giving him our praise. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 22:4)

Key Passage: 1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

Conclusion:

  • God is so great that he cares for us enough to send us His son, Jesus.
  • We are invited into his family and are able to experience his greatness in our lives.
